Part 1: Natural Exfoliant
Soft skin. We all want soft skin. I have unusually dry skin, so this has been a personal battle for my entire life. In the last couple years I made a personal mission to soften up my dry skin.
Some people can utilize the easy remedies, such as drinking more water and upping their oil intake and that works wonders. I am not one of those people. Not by a long shot. Now go to your kitchen, locate your baking soda.
Baking soda has so many fantastic uses. One of my favorite happens to be as an exfoliant. Pour some baking soda into a waterproof container or jar (I use an old candle container with a lid that I found at Goodwill).
Put the container in your shower. Take a small hand full of the baking soda and get it a bit wet. Rub it on your skin, gently. If you prefer, you can fill your container half/half with baking soda and water. For water conservation, I highly recommend this.
What I especially love is that baking soda is that it is gentle enough to use on your face. My face happens to be one of the dryest places on my body. Also, if you shave or wax any of your bits, use baking soda to exfoliate your parts. It will save you from getting ingrown hairs, not to mention keep those areas smooth by sluffing off dead skin.
So, next time you take a shower bring baking soda. You can thank me later.

Have you ever tried any of the product from Lush. They seem a bit pricy, but in the long-run they aren’t. It’s a great GREEN company. Check out my Make It Yourself For Less pin board out on Pinterest. Just search my name Judith Cruzan and you’ll find it. Lots of make it yourself stuff that contains natural green ingredients.
Yeah, LUSH products are divine. However, the price tag is a bit steep (for my tastes). That and I tell myself I can make whatever it is pretty cheap without all the packaging.
I’ll check out your pin board! That sounds fantastic!
That sounds awesome! I’ll have to try that with baking soda. I’ve been using cheap table salt mixed with grape seed oil, but I’ve used olive oil in a pinch. I keep it in an old jam jar in my shower.
