Blonde and Blueberry Transitional Dreads.Gorgeous!

Mariah and I have been friends for… over five years now.   She was also one of my first clients.  The set she had made was for Norwescon, which is a fairly large Convention (Con) in the Northwest.  She is usually volunteering all over the Con, so she wanted to have fancy hair for the occasion.

Unfortunately, she was too busy to get them installed (which is not unusual for her).  I held onto them for a long time after finishing them, and situations just weren’t in her favor to get installed.  She couldn’t get them installed due to work.  Then she was going to dye her hair again to get them installed …. and right before she did she found out she was going to have a baby!

Long story short, the proud mom is due to have her baby girl any day now.  I am pretty excited for her and John as they await their first baby.  Mariah has wanted kids as long as I have known her and I know she will make an excellent mother.

Mariah is an awesome friend to have.  She is super thoughtful and fun.  Within our group, she is know for hostessing a really awesome Holiday Party.  Mariah is an awesome, awesome cook.  One of the few people I know that will turn any meal into a culinary adventure.  She is also a wine drinker, so typically she dishes up a fabulous meal with a fantastic wine.  I enjoy visiting her house for a meal more than most high end restaurants.  She actually tried out to be on a cooking show not long ago, and I was with her as she was preparing her meal.  I have trouble understanding how they did not choose her.

She has the most awesome laugh.

Her and I have been a shoulder for one another a lot over the last few years.  Generally one of us is having boy or family issues right after the other.  While comical, she has put up with my inebriated self being hypnotized by DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) for hours.  Quote: “It’s like Tetris for your feet!” I figure I am required to love her for life on account of that.

Last time I went over to her house, they cooked me curry and let me catch up on True Blood. I do not watch television, so I was catching up on the most recent episodes (I haven’t watched any since either).  Then she let me go through her closet and gave me a bunch of body products.  She pretty much spoils me rotten every time I see her.

So while I do not have any pictures of her and dreads, I still wanted to showcase her.  She is an awesome individual that I love dearly.  Mariah, I love (and miss) you!  I cannot wait to see your new baby!

  • Hey! I love the blond and blueberry dreads! I might have to have a fall in those colors :D I have been eyeing vardos and gypsy wagons for a while. Right now I’m just relying on house sitting jobs for a home but your blog is making me REALLY want a vardo!!! I spent the summer in Alaska and started making porcupine quill earrings. My etsy store is Gypsypipergirl. Best wishes for you and your small home and etsy store!
